Discover Turtle Beach for Its
Abundant Shells and Privacy Turtle
Beach is
located at the
southern tip of Siesta Key. As you go over the wood bridge that crosses
the mangrove-surrounded tidal lagoon, you will see the 200 foot wide
beach with gray color sand mixed with tiny shell fragments.
The sand is very
soft and makes walking a
little harder and biking almost impossible. It is a fairly large beach
sought after by shell collectors and families.
 After
a storm is
the best
time to find shells.
If you are really lucky you may find a petrified sharks tooth to take
home and show your friends. And even if you do not find one,
the Beach Bazaar sells them. I wont tell if you don't!!
Their is plenty to do other than
just relaxing and reading the latest best seller. And if somehow
collecting sea shells by the ocean is not enough, There is a - Picnic
Area
- Playground
- Volleyball
Court
- Horseshoe Pit
For
the most part it is the quietest of the Siesta Key beaches. When both
Siesta and Crescent fill up, it starts to see more
traffic. Even then it does not fill up.
